New Dwelling | Under Construction
Currently under construction in Ilkley on the Sunshine Coast, this knock-down rebuild replaces an existing dwelling with a contemporary single level home carefully nestled into its sloping site.
Surrounded by established gum trees, the home sits comfortably within the hillside, responding directly to the natural fall of the land.
The brief called for a flexible family home capable of evolving over time. In response, the layout provides generous open living zones, private bedroom wings and an integrated work-from-home studio designed to function as a secondary dwelling.
The site presented technical challenges, including a Bushfire Overlay requiring BAL 19 compliance. The home also achieved an impressive 8.3-star energy efficiency rating.
